Dear Dad - Kevin Battle

I remember this day so clearly. This was the day my dad finally finished building this dunebuggy. When he started it up, flames shot out of the straight pipes. It sounded like a canon when i backfired. All the neighbours in the buildings across the street came out to see what was making the noise. My dad in just cut-off jean shorts and a cigarette in his mouth, put it in gear and drove off in a completely illegal vehicle. You could here the engine rip throught the gears from Martin Grove and Albion to Kipling St

My Dad built this boat in the basement of our home until my Mom told him to move it to the garage. It sailed no problem. Unfortunaly, my dad never learned to sail.

My Dad felt that building the boat would be harder than to sail. It could sail, just not my Dad. he must have knock of every wind surf on the lake. I can still here him warning the wind surfers, "Get out of the bloody way, I can't sail!"

You’re the man that kick-started my love for history, music and race cars. Thanks for teaching me how to be the life of the party and how to be a good friend. I’ve watched all your wacky ideas come true, suspended forever in the age of a dreamer, that’s why I still chase mine. I’m blessed with so many wild stories from all the adventures we’ve been on. Too wild to be true. But they are. You seem to know something about everything, find humour in tragedy and give tough advice with a dirty joke. That’s why I love you.
